TalkTools’ original Spinner and Toothies is an excellent tool for diagnosing sensory-motor deficits, promoting awareness of the oral cavity, and reducing "fixing." It is commonly used by TalkTools therapists as a sensory activity prior to therapy when clients don’t tolerate tools in their mouth yet.
As a diagnostic tool, it can reveal Hypersensitivity, Hyposensitivity and Tactile Defensiveness (among others), conditions that may interfere with oral placement, feeding and speech therapy. As a therapy tool, it can assist in improving responsiveness to sensory information on and within the oral cavity.

Great for Oral Stimulation
I discovered this tool while doing my clinicals at a clinic. The SLP that I shadowed used it and it is great for promoting stimulation of the oral structures. You can use it with a client but also leave some with the parent to facilitate carry over across all settings. A must have!

I use the toothettes with children with Down syndrome! It is very good to stimulate oral structures. It has helped me a lot, and the results in children's language is notorious. My favorites.
